15 m/s – we hoist sails and reaches towards first flag. A couple of tacks and gibes later it feels like we played nine holes – but it´s only the first five on the other side of the road. Fourth, a classic par3 with wonderful settings, city, beach and surf.

Fourth hole, Bude & North Cornwall

Around us lies Bude – the church, town-houses and Sainsbury within range. We adapt new strategies – thinned three irons, spoons with no tees – the feeling of making a par can be compared of shooting an easy sub 75 – mighty. After the outward nine wind increases  – at 11th we struggle not to tumble over. Safety-harnesses on and we manages to make the last par of the day.

17th green, Bude & North Cornwall

17th, a monster par4, not reachable despite the ball is brought off the tee by the wind- 18th, one of three par fives, feels like a whole golf-course. We need to test our hearing and balance at the local bartender before we watches Luke Donald master Wenthworth in the same wind conditions.
