Royal West Norfolk (Brancaster)
Anticipated Links Experience:
A classic links experience beween marshland and the sea on a strip of land only as wide as two fairways. Nine holes out and nine holes back again. A place as sacred as a medieval chapel. The clubhouse encourages peace of mind before the iron gate leading to the course is opened. A links course that brings back many fine memories. An unforgettable, unique experience that takes links delight to a new level. Open your mind.
Best holes:
par3: 4th hole
par4: 14th hole
par5: 8th hole
Worthy of Note:
The local tide tables must be studied before RWNGC is visited as the road to the club is not negotiable at high tide. “This is a two ball course for singles and foursome play only.”
History:
Very little has changed since the course was founded in 1892. The course was laid out by Mr Holcombe Ingleby, who was mayor of King’s Lynn, Norfolk at the time. The club received its royal status when the Prince of Wales, later to be King Edward VII was the club’s patron.
