Aberdovey Golf Club

Anticipated Links Experience:
A wonderful pearl in northern Wales. With Snowdonia in the backgound and the sea behind sand dunes along the longest side this is a classic links course of the highest class. Perhaps not a championship course, even if a number of big tournaments have been played here, but definitely a links which engenders true delight, with both history and love of terrain between land and sea.

Best Holes:
par3: Third
par4: 16th
par5: 13th

Worthy of Note:
The railway station is next to the clubhouse and in 1892 the only way to reach the club was by railway. In the clubhouse there is a set of hickory clubs from 1882, which were used at Aberdovey 10 years before the club was founded!

History:
One of Bernard Darwin’s favourites and of course there is a Darwin Room in the clubhouse. Built in 1892 and later changed by both Taylor and Braid. One of the members is one Ian Woosnam – another famous Welshman.
