St Enodoc Golf Club
Anticipated Links Experience:
A well-manicured links course with high ambitions. Has the character of classic links, cliff links and public courses. The overall impression is very European – inland Irish with championship character. In isolation it’s very good but doesn’t really impress as a Links75 course. Individual holes are, however, of extremely high class.
Best Holes:
par3: 8th
par4: 6th
par5: 16th
Worthy of Note:
The bunker on the 6th hole is England’s largest along with the bunker at Royal St Georges 4th hole. Play the 18th from the back tee and get an amazing view over a fantastic finishing hole.
History:
Today’s course is very much the same as it was when James Braid drew up plans for the course in 1907. In combination with the construction of the new clubhouse in 1937, Braid also re-designed the 17th and 18th holes.
During recent times a lot has been changed, including the16th hole being lengthened, where a new green has also been built.
