Tenby Golf Club

Anticipated Links Experience:
A picturesque links experience with great stage presence. Fantastic views over Tenby, the beach and St Catherine’s Island. Narrow fairways, a number of marker posts and classic, strategical links golf. Holes 15-17 (on the other side of the railway track) are, however, not of the same standard as the other 15 holes. Had they been so then Tenby would have been a better, more complete experience.

Best Holes:
par3: 12th
par4: Third
par5: 14th

Worthy of Note:
Already on the 1st tee, which is half blind, you become aware of the course’s tricky nature. The 3rd hole has been named after Dai Rees (his favourite hole), the legendary Ryder Cup captain from Wales who lead the English to an historic victory in 1957. The 4th hole – The Bell – with its two marker posts is another gem. Make sure you visit Tenby – a wonderful little town straight from the Middle Ages.

History:
Wales’ oldest golf club, founded in 1888. The course, like so many others, was improved by James Braid. The course has hosted the Welsh Amateur Championship, the Ladies Amatuer British Open and the Girls Amateur British Open.
